Lionfish have highly toxic venom and envenomation may result in a wide spectrum of complaints humans ranging from sharp pain to infection necrosis the soft tissue. Symptoms lionfish include pain, swelling, redness, bleeding, nausea, numbness, anxiety, joint headache, dizziness, even anaphylactic reaction resulting death. Treatment involves applying immersion affected area hot water at 42-45 0C for 30-90 min, analgesics, tetanus toxoid, antibiotics. Complications such as tissue infection, bone-joint appear due damage unnoticed fish spines or other foreign bodies. A 36-year-old male patient was admitted hospital with hardness on his middle finger. The had history sting by while he swimming month prior. After consulting radiology department, diagnosed embedded bodies puncture wound. He underwent two surgical repairs wound healed without complication. Functional recovery extremity achieved medical support diving physician who is familiar health problems related marine environment. In addition case presentation, we also discuss history, clinical manifestations, current treatment this venomous animal. As population species has been increasing, scientists should focus taking action global, regional, national, community, individual level solutions. It be priority create awareness prepare strategies prompt diagnosis, initial treatment, prevention injury.
